Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Academic Advisor II, Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:
Provide learning strategies for at-risk student-athletes by offering proactive and individualized support to enhance academic success and develop independent learners.
Assist student-athletes with understanding and meeting academic eligibility guidelines based on NCAA, C-USA, and FAU requirements. Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Provide excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with athletics business partners, coaches, administrators, student-athletes, parents, faculty and staff.
Apply NCAA standards to determine continuing eligibility status and provide guidance related to consequences of enrollment decisions.
Provide support for departmental APR progress initiatives pertaining to retention, eligibility, and completion.
Work collaboratively with college advisors to ensure that student-athletes receive appropriate academic advising.
Work effectively with coaches to promote an educational atmosphere that promotes academic achievement.
Assist with and implement life skills programming for student-athletes.
Meet with prospective student-athletes and their parents to provide an overview of the academic opportunities at the University.
Work at SACAE and Athletic sponsored events and functions.
May supervise OPS employee/intern.
Coordinate administrative projects and other assignments as assigned by the Director.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of advising or appropriate experience required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
