Florida Atlantic University, the highest ranked public university for diversity in the state, seeks highly qualified applicants for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions at any rank to participate in a new, interdisciplinary initiative in Genomics, Biomedical Science, Precision Medicine, and Health Equity. This initiative is housed within the Schmidt College of Medicine and is partially funded from the University’s State Excellence program. We are actively seeking applicants interested in joining our group and collaborating on innovative projects lying at the intersection of discovery research, genomic medicine, value-based care, and health equity research.
Successful candidates will be provided protected time for development and maintenance of a nationally competitive research program. These positions will be expected to acquire or sustain robust extramural research funding; teach within the appropriate academic unit; mentor clinical and graduate students; promote interdisciplinary collaborations; and expand on our growing expertise in precision medicine and/or health equity. These positions will fall under the Schmidt College of Medicine with primary appointments in the Department of Biomedical Science. As appropriate, physician scientists will have the opportunity for joint appointment in the Department of Integrated Medical Science within the Schmidt College of Medicine.

Doctorate from an accredited institution in Biomedical Science or Genomics (or related discipline); a strong track record of publications; and an appreciation for broadly engaged, collaborative team science required at time of application.Candidates demonstrating a strong record of extramural funding are preferred. Prior work experiences in capturing human genetic variation, performing functional assessment, or developing medical applications thereof are highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
