Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking several Elementary Teachers, Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, model, deliver, and develop rich, standards-based, student-centered learning experiences.

  • Identify and apply relevant educational research-based instructional strategies.

  • Develop engaging and differentiated lessons, assignments and assessments.

  • Utilize relevant technology and resources for optimal engagement and differentiation.

  • Manage student behavior through positive behavior interventions and support.

  • Support social emotional and character education strategies to facilitate student development in self and social awareness and responsible decision-making.

  • Provide timely, appropriate, and actionable feedback to students.

  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.

  • Engage in research activities to further the school’s mission and to generate advancements in teaching and learning.

  • Maintain and utilize accurate and comprehensive documentation and evidence of students' progress and development.

  • Communicate regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.

  • Participate and engage in professional learning experiences that support professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization by time of application required. Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in K-6 or valid Florida Department of Education Statement of Eligibility in K-6 required.Preferred: Knowledge and experience in implementing Readers and Writers Workshop.
