Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Postdoctoral Investigator in Cancer Cell Biology at FAU- HBOI’s Campus in Fort Pierce, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:
Isolating protein for functional proteomic analysis for selected compounds and analyzing the data provided by the Functional Proteomics Reverse Phase Protein Array Core Lab performing the analysis.
Preparing samples to conduct L1000 gene expression analysis and analyzing resulting data provided by the company that performs this analysis.
Using databases such as LINCS and Connectivity Map from the Broad Institute and STRING from EMBL to analyze the proteomic and genomic data.
Testing selected compounds on heterospheroids of triple negative breast cancer cells with fibroblasts or macrophages to address tumor-stroma interactions in a high content imager.
Conducting 3D tumor spheroid invasion assays to determine if selected compounds affect metastatic potential.
Validating proteomic/genomic results using siRNA, functional assays or flow cytometry and/or western blotting.
Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting.
Proactively seek out new information in the literature and incorporate this information into the individual project as well as the overall program.
Prepare manuscripts on research findings for submission to high impact peer-reviewed journals and present work at scientific conferences.
Demonstrate a high degree of responsibility in maintaining scientific standards and safe laboratory practices for self and reporting staff if any.
Supervise one or more summer interns.
Maintain accurate and current records of research and/or project related activities.
Ph.D. degree from accredited institution in biomedical sciences, cancer biology, immunology, cell biology or related discipline by the time of application required. Strong laboratory and analytical skills.A record of peer-reviewed publications, and proficiency in verbal and written scientific presentations.Advanced knowledge of techniques such as sterile cell culture, microscopy, flow cytometry, cytotoxicity testing, protein and nucleic acid isolation, antibody labeling, ELISAs, techniques to measure angiogenesis and metastasis in vitro such as cell migration, cell scratch assays and endothelial cell tube formation assays, and molecular biology techniques routinely used in cell biology such as siRNA, western blotting and electrophoresis.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in the use of high content imaging and analysis of data generated. Experience with cell culture in 3D-spheroids highly desired.
